Abstract:
The aim of this study was to compare the cephalometric results of Biofuncional prescription with the prescription of Roth in patients with Class III malocclusion. The sample included two groups of adult patients treated with each prescription where the Biofuncional group had 17 subjects (initial mean age of 20.43 7.38 years, duration of treatment of 2.20 0.58 years, with 8 individuals were male and 9 female) and Roth 15 (initial mean age of 15.59 2.82 years, duration of treatment of 2.36 1.09 years, and 6 subjects were male and 9 female). For each individual of both groups corresponded a lateral initial and final cephalometric radiography and study models. Treatment effects were assessed using 36 linear and angular cephalometric variables. The independent t test was use to compare the differences between the two groups and the dependent t test was used to compare in the same group. The results showed that the Biofuncional prescription less inclined lower incisors lingually, designed to point A, the Wits relationship was best corrected and improved facial profle. As a conclusion, that this prescrition has promoted an improvement of facial aesthetics by orthodontic treatment with a lower appearance of dental compensation.
