dc.description.abstract The aim of this study was to evaluate and compare the load/deflection behavior of six Thermal Activated Nickel–Titanium orthodontic wires using a three-point bending test (EMIC). The wires NiTinol Termoativado (Aditek), NeoSentaloy F200 (GAC), Thermo Plus (Morelli), Cooper NiTi 35°C (Ormco), Flexy Thermal 35°C (Orthometric) and Superthermal Nickel Titanium Arches (OrthoSource) were evaluated in the activation and deactivation at deflections of 0.5, 1, 2 and 3 mm at two different temperatures of 24°C and 37°C. Force-deflection diagrams and data were collected by Tesc software. Forces of activation and deactivation at all deflections applied and in both temperatures were compared by analysis of variance (ANOVA). Results demonstrated that significant differences (P<0.05) in forces were observed among wires during activation and deactivation at both temperatures evaluated. NeoSentaloy F200 and NiTinol Termoativado released the lowest force for deactivation at 37°C. This study revealed significant differences in force during activation and deactivation among the six types of Thermal Activated Nickel–Titanium wires tested. pt_BR
