Abstract:
It was carried the epidemiological study which were initially assessed a orthodontics documentations containing: telerradiography, roentnography, models and photographs collected from the headquarters of specialized courses in Orthodontics sponsored by the sectionals Faculties Ingá crowded on the cities of Fortaleza-CE, Maringá-PR and Bauru-SP, respectively representing the Northeast, South and Southeast of Brazil, with the goal of trying to detect whether there are population differences in inter-regional prevalence of certain occlusal characteristics. The sample was composed of 947 orthodontic completes documentation, as follows: 363 documentation of cross-sectional to Fortaleza, 270 of the sectional Maringá-PR and 314 of the sectional Bauru-SP, covering subjects during the deciduous, mix and permanent dentition phase’s with the minimum 3 and maximum 56 years-old. Utilizing statistical analyze descriptive like ANOVA test and Chi-square test, it was concluded than the patients to Bauru-SP have the most prevalence to the crossbite (4,75%), increased overbite (3,59%) and diastemas (5,17%) whereas predominated in the unit of Maringá-PR the normal type overjet (13,30%) and the openbite (4,75%).
