In current orthodontics, the patient has sought for treatment options aesthetic
orthodontics braces that remain invisible in the social interaction between patient and
society. Accordingly, since the 70's, studies and research has perfected the
techniques, procedures and orthodontic materials, resulting in Lingual Orthodontics.
Based on these assumptions, this study aims to compare and evaluate the occlusal
results of cases treated with lingual and buccal orthodontics. For both scientific
research was done between two groups, the first group with 19 patients treated with
the Lingual technique and the other group with 26 patients treated with the Buccal
technique, occlusal results where these criteria were evaluated by the Little
irregularity index and the PAR indexes . The results showed that patients treated with
Lingual Orthodontics had a better PAR and Little indexes than the cases treated with
Buccal Orthodontics.
