COMPARAÇÃO DOS DIÂMETROS MESIODISTAIS ENTRE OS DENTES POSTERIORES SUPERIORES E INFERIORES

Abstract

The objective of this study is to compare the mesiodistal diameter in study models between first premolars, second premolars and cuspids mesiovestibular the first molars, upper and lower. Were measured 711 plaster models, and models of 321 Class I, Class II model 324 and model 66 Class III. To make the measurements we used a digital caliper Precision Hardened Stainless proximate brand. Comparisons were made between the diameter mesiodistal first bicuspid, second bicuspid cuspid and mesiovestibular of upper and lower first molars on each side by means of the ANOVA comparison between the sum of the diameters of mesiodistal first premolar second premolar and first molar mesiobuccal cusp bilaterally both upper and lower through the test'' t'' independent, as well as the comparison of mesiodistal diameters between the first premolar to the right and left first premolar right and left and the comparison of mesiodistal diameters of the second premolar to the right and left second premolar right and left. The results indicated a significant difference between the mesiodistal diameters of first premolars, second premolars and cuspids mesiovestibular the first molars on both sides, already among the first premolars and second premolars on both sides of the result was not significant among them but in comparison both with the mesiobuccal cusp of mandibular first molar and left there was a significant difference, no significant occurrence of mesiodistal diameter difference between first and second premolar and first molar cusps of mesiovestibular, between the right and left sides both upper and lower, there was no difference in the comparison between first premolars upper and lower on the same side as the comparison of the second premolars and lower on the same side there was a significant difference. It was concluded that the first premolars are larger in diameter than mesiodistal the second premolars, the first and second premolars are similar in relation to the mesiodistal diameter, no difference in diameter between pre mesiodistal molar, and the cusps of molars mesiovestibular both upper and lower sides of both, the first premolars and lower side of the same diameter in the mesiodistal are similar and that the second premolar and higher relative to the diameter mesiodistal the second premolar on both sides.
