Abstract:
This study aimed to compare the proportion of debonding of orthodontic accessories
of enamel surfaces of teeth bonded with Transbond XT resin ® and Fill Magic ®
orthodontics. The sample comprised 17 patients who began treatment in the orthodontic clinic
of Inga faculty were followed for 7 months, and brackets were bonded to the second premolar
to second premolar on the opposite side in both jaws. The right side was bond with Transbond
XT ® and the left side with Fill Magic ® orthodontic totaling 340 brackets, 170 with each
adhesive system. The results showed that brackets bonded with Transbond XT ® resin along
the 7-month evaluation had four failure in three brackets being 1 of them failure twice. The
Fill Magic ® orthodontic was evaluated at 7 months and showed 19 failures in 17 brackets.
Two brackets failure twice. Through analysis of data by chi-square test this study concluded
that the adhesive system Transbond XT ® showed better retention than the adhesive system
Fill Magic ® orthodontic with significant differences.
