COMPARACÀO CLÍNICA DA EFETIVIDADE DA COLAGEM DOS BRAQUETES ORTODONTICOS COM DUAS RESINAS FOTOPOLIMERIZÁVEL

Abstract

This study aimed to compare the proportion of debonding of orthodontic accessories of enamel surfaces of teeth bonded with Transbond XT resin ® and Fill Magic ® orthodontics. The sample comprised 17 patients who began treatment in the orthodontic clinic of Inga faculty were followed for 7 months, and brackets were bonded to the second premolar to second premolar on the opposite side in both jaws. The right side was bond with Transbond XT ® and the left side with Fill Magic ® orthodontic totaling 340 brackets, 170 with each adhesive system. The results showed that brackets bonded with Transbond XT ® resin along the 7-month evaluation had four failure in three brackets being 1 of them failure twice. The Fill Magic ® orthodontic was evaluated at 7 months and showed 19 failures in 17 brackets. Two brackets failure twice. Through analysis of data by chi-square test this study concluded that the adhesive system Transbond XT ® showed better retention than the adhesive system Fill Magic ® orthodontic with significant differences.
