EFEITOS CEFALOMÉTRICOS APÓS O ALINHAMENTO E NIVELAMENTO EM PACIENTES TRATADOS SEM EXTRAÇÕES COM APARELHOS AUTOLIGADOS. MARINGÁ

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to evaluate study the cephalometric effects, changes in dental inclinations and the soft tissue changes in patients with Angle Class I malocclusion, treated orthodontically without dental extraction, with preadjusted appliance Roth prescription self-ligated. The sample used in this retrospective study consisted of 29 initial cephalograms and 29 final cephalograms of 29 patients of both genders, between 10-45 years of age, who were treated in particular clinics in cities at the state of Paraná, and the inclusion criteria was the presence of Angle Class I malocclusion, presence of all permanent teeth erupted up to the first permanent molars, treated without extractions. To verify the changes with treatment between initial and final phases, dependent t tests were applied to the cephalometric variables studied. Based on the sample and the methodology used, the changes caused by corrective treatment with preadjusted appliance Roth prescription self-ligated were: slight maxillary protrusion, slight increase in the mandibular effective length, protrusion and buccal tipping of maxillary incisors, buccal tipping of mandibular incisors, reduction of the interincisive angle. Profile changes were: slight decrease in the nasolabial angle end lower lip protrusion.
